Farmer John Peterson & Robert Siegel joined up to put together one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen – called “The Real Dirt on Farmer John”. The documentary is amazing in the fact that it has 35 years of film footage, covering most of John’s life. The story tells the tale of John’s family farm and it’s story of being lost and then reformed and transformed into one of the first CSA farms (Community Supported Agriculture). John has become an iconic figure in the green movement – just try mentioning his name at your local farmer’s market and you’ll see both recognition at his name and a sort of spiritual reverence.
John himself is such an intersting, quirky and down to earth person, and made the shoot a really fun experience – he wore his farmer’s hat & feather boa and we even had veggies on hand!
